Jason Yee discusses his first feature Dark Assassin, shot in pieces in 2001 thru 2003 using 16mm film in a very different world, before the days of HD cameras, when the challenge for filmmakers, including funding, was much greater. Having no formal film production training, Jason calls Dark Assassin his ‘film school’ as he learned all his hard lessons of being a first-time writer, director, producer and star of his own movie. Jason toiled years to get the movie completed and finally got a wide DVD release in 2006. This was also, the first feature film role for MMA & action star, Cung Le and co-stars horror movie legend, Tony Todd.
