Dante Basco has had an amazing film career that started when he was a young kid and allowed him to mature into grown-up roles. As a young teenager, he landed a role in Hook starring Dustin Hoffman, Robin William and Julia Roberts that opened up new opportunities in Hollywood. Once he reached adulthood he started taking on edgier, dramatic roles that allowed him to not just grow as an actor, but avoid the curse of child actors not becoming adult actors. We sat down with Dante to talk about his very lengthy career including Naked Brown Men, a film he did with brothers Darion, Derek and Dion Basco; Paradise Broken about the Waikiki drug underworld, and his voiceover work including for the TV series The Last Airbender.
Paradise Broken, Directed by James Sereno, will be screened at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival on May 12th @ 12:00PM and May 18th @ 9:30PM. Dante can also be seen in Hang Loose also starring Justin Chon and Kevin Wu at the festival on May 12th @ 3:00PM. For more information and to purchase tickets visit their website: LAAPFF
