It’s here everyone!

Historical feature films, special events, long awaited screenings and of course short films. Of course the Asian film that has been the talk of the festival circuit is Justin Chon’s GOOK. We LOVE Justin Chon! (Are we allowed to say that??) Justin is multi-talent and this feature is a must see. An amazing number of short films are being screened this year. Some that have hit the west coast that we have seen include The must see musical MANGO STICKY RICE by Mallory Ortega, James Q. Chan’s CHINATOWN, David Liu’s TWENTY YEARS, Brandon W. Dickson’s GERMAPHOBIA, Arnold Chun’s FRACTURED and the biggest winner at ASIANS ON FILM FESTIVAL OF SHORTS 2017 including Best Drama, Best Director, Best Ensemble Cast and Audience Choice Award, Raphael Sbarge’s THE BIRD WHO COULD FLY starring Joe Seo, Rob Yang, Jack Yang and Vivian Bang. AAIFF40 will also present TAIWAN CINEMA DAYS, a series program of three, one narrative and two documentary features, showcasing fresh voices from  contemporary Taiwanese cinema.
