For those in, around, and near Boston, this Thursday starts the Boston Asian American Film Festival. Besides the film we have recommended you see many times, The People I’ve Slept With by Director Quentin Lee and starring Karin Anna Cheung and Archie Kao, you can also see the comedy Today’s Special starring The Daily Show’s Aasif Mandvi, and a film about asian women we have been hearing about, The Things We Carry.

The Things We Carry is a story about a woman, Emmie, played by Alyssa Lobit, whose drug addicted mother dies. She returns home and travels through the underbelly of suburbia looking for a package her mother left behind while reconnecting with her estranged sister, Eve.
