Based on a true story, How War Ends takes place eighteen years after two Cambodian brother have left life under Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge (1975-1979). Older brother Rithy (Cambodian-American actor D.Y. Sao), strong enough to be able to now live with his painful memories, and his younger brother Bunthon (William Wu) who is unable to function in life because of the trauma he experienced, argue their very different ideas about how to deal with Bunthon’s dark, empty life.
