Dustin Nguyen is an Asian-American actor who has taken his acting skills overseas to Vietnam to become part of the amazing transformation that has been taking place in the film industry there. Unlike some Asian-American actors who plant themselves firmly in a film industry in Asia, Dustin continues to live in the USA and act in English language films while also being in some amazing Vietnamese language films. The 2006 Vietnamese film The Rebel written but Asian-American brothers Charlie and Johnny Nguyen (not related to Dustin!), directed by Charlie and starring Johnny & Dustin is an amazing action film that became the highest grossing film in Vietnamese film history. A couple of years later Dustin starred in the romantic comedy Fool For Love (also directed by Charlie Nguyen) with Asian-American actress Kathy Uyen which is another wonderful film that shouldn’t be missed! Then last year Dustin starred in Floating Lives with Vietnamese actress Do Thi Hai Yen (Directed by Quang Binh Nguyen) which is a powerful, emotionally driven film that shows just what an amazing actor Dustin is, in fact, the film is worthy of recognition as one of the best foreign language films of 2010.
July 22nd is almost here and Dustin’s latest Vietnemese film Giữa Hai Thế Giới is being released! While there is no USA release date yet, you can expect it to be screened in the USA in the future.
