Those old enough to remember 21 Jump Street will remember Vietnamese born actor Dustin Nguyen.  Both his parents were actors in South Vietnam and so the acting bug was destined to bite Dustin. He is one of the first asian actors who found himself in a leading role in a TV show. His career in television continued after 21 Jump Street, but perhaps because he IS asian could not attain the celebrity status of Johnny Depp. With a scattering of film roles through the 90’s, his film career took a turn in recent years with some more stand out roles such as a heroin addict opposite Cate Blancette in Little Fish. The trend to go back to your asian roots seem to hit Dustin when he starred De Mai Tinh and in the powerful Vietnamese film Huyen Thoai Bat Tu (The Legend Is Alive) which earned him a Best Actor Award in Vietnam in 2009. Back in his adopted country he starred in the thriller The Gaunlet in 2009.  Currently he is involved in two pre-production filmd in the USA, Saigon, CA and Popular Dysfunctions.

During his free time he is involved in the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. His wife Angela Rockwood was left a quadriplegic after an accident in 2001 that also claimed the life of Vietnamese actress Thuy Trang.
