Edison Chen might tell you that his acting career was an accident, but it probably has more to do with the fact that others recognized his talent before he did himself! So while he is Canadian, events in Hong Kong turned him into a multi-talented star in China.

His recent two year break from the Hong Kong film industry gave him the opportunity to expand his clothing line, work on his singing career, and explore acting in Hollywood. While he had smaller roles then he was accustomed to in Hong Kong in The Grudge 2 and The Dark Knight, he also landed a co-starring role in Bertha Pan’s wonderful film Almost Perfect alongside Asian-American actors Kelly Hu and Ivan Shaw. Perhaps the film was a bit out of his acting comfort zone because it’s a drama about a dysfunctional family and because it’s in his native language, English, which he typically isn’t using in Hong Kong films, but his performance also proves his growth as an actor. Now focusing on his business, his music and acting in Hollywood, he can expect great new opportunities.
