Short films are the way writers and directors show their abilities. Mortal Kombat: Rebirth has been making the rounds on youtube and the buzz is “what the??” Trailer? Short? Video Game? Who knows at this point, but perhaps if we are lucky it is a teaser for a full length feature that will star Ian Anthony Dale who is in the youtube short. Ian is of Japanese, French and English decsent and one of the other great talents to come out of Minneapolis (the other being Prince). Ian’s filmography is short, but his TV appearances are too great to mention. And even when he has landed a role in a feature film his spectacular good looks are lost among the big stars such as his roles in The Bucket List, The Hangover, Lollipops and Flying Lessons. He finally got a bigger role in Dwight Little’s film Tekken. Now if only The rebirth of Mortal Kombat is also a rebirth of Ian into bigger roles in Hollywood where he belongs!

- Ian Anthony Dale Interview: Mortal Combat Rebirth and the future | Asians on Film - [...] In the final segment of our interview with Ian Anthony Dale, he talks about landing roles on TV, future projects…
I would love to see Dale as the possible new James Bond. He has the look, the skills as an actor, as well as the potential to bring a fresh reprieve to the character. We have all seen the Bond movies and I am afraid that they have become a little stale in their choice in actors as well as character development. With these movies being in the action genre of course their is going to be a lot of action especially now with what can be done with special effects, but, I miss the acting. I miss the development of plot and characters I miss when an audience got to meet a character that wasn’t so black and white, good or bad, lead characters that lived in the shades of gray. They are not completely evil but they are not completely good. They just are. If we can have a James Bond like that I would be the first one in line at the theatres willing to pay full price without complaint. One of the few actors that I believe can really bring this type of character to life is Mr. Ian Anthony Dale.
