Festival Director KJ Park sat down with us to talk about how KAFFLA evolved out of the idea to mark the 20th anniversary of the Los Angeles riots and to document the Korean American experience. The first annual festival will be held August 9-11, 2012 at the Korean Cultural Center with the support of KAFFNY and Founder and Executive Director Dave Kim.

KAFFNY started in September 2006 and held its first annual festival in January 2007 at Anthology Film Archives, presenting Korean American films. Since then, KAFFNY programming has evolved to showcase an expanding diversity of perspectives, local and global and also present works by artists and musicians.
