Almost Perfect is Bertha Bay-Sa Pan’s latest feature film that centers on a thirtysomething woman (Kelly Hu) who’s family depends on her to run a small non-profit business and never has time for herself. When she runs into an old friend (Ivan Shaw), she thinks perhaps he is “almost perfect.” When her life starts taking a different focus, the family begins to fall apart without her at the helm. Her high-maintenance fashion designer sister (Christina Chang) is on the brink; her surf bum brother (Edison Chen) has gone AWOL; and her over-analyzing, over-intellectual mother (Tina Chen) has barred her father (Roger Rees) from their home, sending him into his own mid-life crisis.
As a Festival Centerpiece Presenation it is a film we are excited about showcasing and we have lined up a number of interviews with the actors/actresses starring in the film and with Director Bertha Bay-Sa Pan, so readers can expect multiple interviews! Almost Perfect will be screened on April 30th at 5:30Pm at the DGA.
