Newport Beach Film Festival is Orange County’s premiere film festival loaded with movies from around the world and great events. This year the festival will screen 400 films from 50 countries. Wow…just wow! It’s easy to love this festival because of the diversity of films that get screened and this year, besides a number of foreign language films from Asian countries there are a host of Asian-American films, plus one of our favorite English language Asian films, Rosanne Liang’s film My Wedding and Other Secrets, hailing from New Zealand.

We will be rolling out interviews in support of films being screened at the festival starting tomorrow. Some films we suggest you catch include Omi Vaidya in Big In Bollywood (April 27th), Detention of the Dead premiere starring Justin Chon (April 27th), Derek Nguyen’s The Potential Wives of Norman Mao (April 29th), Andrew Ahn‘s Dol (First Birthday) (April 29th), Jason Wong’s Reunion (April 29th), two animated films, Sam Chen’s Seth & Maria starring Seth Rogan and Maria Menounos (April 29th), and Shaun Kim‘s Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks (April 30), Rosanne Liang’s My Wedding and Other Secrets (April 30th), Desiree Lim’s The House starring Natalie Skye, Mr. Nakamura’s Addiction starring Won Lee (May 1st), Michelle Chen’s Son of Stars (May 1st), and Shanghai Calling starring Daniel Henney (May 3rd).
