Director Tadashi Nakamura is a unique breed of filmmaker who created a trilogy of films, Yellow Brotherhood, Pilgrimage, and A Song For Ourselves, documenting moments in Japanese-American history. That in an of itself perhaps isn’t unique, but Tad has the ability to present pieces of history that perhaps are not easily remembered even by Japanese-Americans, especially the younger generation, and at the same time give them the political edge of the civil rights movement as it pertains to Japanese-Americans and juxtapose that to current day Asian-American experience.  When he agreed to answer some of our questions and give us a perspective on his filmmaking we were ecstatic! Watch for the Q&A in part 2!
